This walk lies just within the Dartmoor National Park boundary and although St Michael's Church attracts enough visitors to justify its own car park (and toilets), you will meet few other people once you leave it. A fair part of the walk is on lanes but only the first fifteen minutes are at all busy; most of the remainder is on bridleways, with the advantage that there is only one stile. The church stands high on its promontory, so that you will have good views of the moors to the east and of the Devon pastures all round.

Good instructions. Interesting church at the beginning. A bit too much walking on country roads though.
