This short walk to the west of Delamere Forest takes you to some attractive areas that are walked enough to keep the paths visible, but not so much that you will be trampled by all the other walkers. There is a mixture of farmland and woodland. As this is Cheshire, it is highly likely that there will be cattle or horses or both in some of the fields. At one point, the route skirts a classic 'V-shaped valley', cut into the clay by a stream since the end of the Ice Age. Because the area is not over-visited, there is a good chance of seeing birds and animals. Wildflowers are plentiful, as are brambles for those prepared to brave the thorns.

In late July 2017 the route is pretty clear. On a warm afternoon it was particularly satisfying to be able to get an ice cream at Stonehouse farm. There is an electric fence between way points 19 and 20 but it is easy to cross. I push it down with the plastic handle of a walking stick. The route at points 23 and 24 is very clear as there is a clear way through the maize crop.

Completed the walk on 14th Feb 2016 A nice walk that was not too muddy, even after all the rain we have had recently. We had a very nice bacon butty and a cappuccino at the Stonehouse Farm B&B between WP17 and WP17 A couple of very minor corrections, which you may want to make, although they did not distract form this pleasant walk. WP02, it is actually Delamere Road and not Delamere Lane. WP14, there is actually one more stile just before the gate onto the road. WP17 is now a metal kissing gate rather than a wooden stile. Thanks as ever to the people who take the time and trouble to document and submit these lovely walks
