After leaving the car park we walk up a farm lane and cross Churston Golf Course, to a short section of road that passes the historic Churston Church, before another farm track takes us through woodland to Battery Gardens, which have housed gun emplacements for hundreds of years. Arriving at the historic fishing town of Brixham, the walker could spend several hours just looking around or visiting one of the many restaurants. Our return leg of the walk runs along the seafront and another part of the Battery Gardens, before visiting the quiet coves of Fishcombe and Churston. A steep climb up steps now takes us to the clifftop and 1.5 kilometres of woodland with sea peeks before dropping down again to Elberry Cove. Leaving the cove, a grassy walk along a low clifftop for about another kilometre returns us to our start point. This walk may be shortened at several places if required.
