Broomfield - Cothelstone Hill - Lydeard Hill - Courtway - Broomfield

We start at the National Trust property of Fyne Court and immediately aim for Cothelstone Hill by following a section of the Macmillan Way West. Lydeard Hill follows with, on a clear day, views back to Cothelstone and forward to Wills Neck and well beyond to the coast. The route then descends and takes in several farms on the way back to Fyne Court by way of Broomfield Hill. This is a rapidly changing, mixed walk with something to please everyone.

Waymark 15 had very inquisitive ponies in the small paddock. -- Waymark 17 dog owners beware the stiles on this part of the walk are not dog friendly, there are 3 of them in quick succession.

Lovely walk with great start down narrow leafy path .. completed on 20/11/11 in 4 hours excluding 30 min stop at Travellers Rest .. slightly misty conditions turning clear and bright by 2pm .. only navigation comment re end of waymark 3, "the path cuts the corner of the following field" .. when we were there the field was full of nicely developed vegetables and to forge a path through them seemed unfriendly ... turning right on entering the field and then following the wide uncultivated edge of the field for two sides brings you easily round to the clear gap into the woods on your right. Thanks for a great day Malcolm!
