We start from the town of Bude with its long sandy beaches, museum and castle and walk along the path of the tranquil canal for a little over two kilometres. Here there is a tea shop for those who wish for refreshments, before ascending through farmland to the wide expanse of sand at Widemouth Bay, with toilets and more refreshments if required. The walk continues along the clifftop path of this spectacular rugged coast to the wide sands of Bude and our return to the canal and our transport.

We just completed this walk starting out in Bude after finding free parking alongside the canal in Breakwater Road. We did the route clockwise in just over 3 hours including a few stops to take in the views. Really enjoyable - many thanks
