Starting from Bulls Cross, the walk makes use of permissive paths through beautiful mixed broadleaf woodland, giving glimpses of the countryside below. There are several benches for rest stops and to admire the view. After passing a small lake, the route climbs up to the wildflower meadows above Sheepscombe Common. From here there are magnificent views over Sheepscombe and the surrounding countryside.
The route descends the hillside to the attractive village of Sheepscombe with its traditional stone cottages. From here, the return route is through fields and quiet lanes. After climbing up the hillside from Sheepscombe village, the views open out over the Painswick valley, with Painswick village and its distinctive church spire visible in the distance.
