Starting high up in the Cotswold hills above Slad, the walk goes through a woodland nature reserve and continues along a high level route with good views over the Stroud valley. It then crosses the ridge and proceeds downhill to the Painswick valley with excellent views on the way down. After a short stretch alongside a stream, the route goes back uphill and through the nature reserve. There is birdsong in the woods from February to July and a wonderful display of wildflowers including orchids in the grassy verges and meadows during June and July.

Clear instructions and a lovely walk in a stunning part of the country. You might even see Alpacas being walked around points 14 and 15 as these are where group walking tours congregate.
