The Glenshee Ski Centre lies on the county boundary between Perthshire and Aberdeenshire at a height of 650 metres. Starting at this height leaves only 267 metres to the summit of Carn Aosda, easily reachable in 45 minutes. From here the route contours round the ridge, passing above Loch Vrotachan before ascending Carn nan Sac, which lies in the centre of the triangle of Munros and also gives a great view down Glenshee. From this top a wide flat ridge leads to Carn a Gheoidh, the second Munro of the walk. From here a 4km round trip takes you to Carn Bhinnein, a smaller top of Carn a Gheoidh. The route then doubles back to the ridge above Glenshee and you have a short climb to The Cairnwell summit before descending over the heather-covered hillside to the ski centre below.

Great walk, we took it in a slightly different order, saw half a dozen artic hares and dozens of grouse and ptarmigan. Beautiful spring day, and plenty of giggles glissading down the out of use pistes to get back to the start. No real worries for our four legged friends here except perhaps abundant wildlife to chase.
