After about seven kilometres of good camino driving we reach the start point of this amazing hike. We will begin ascending steadily through mixed woods with frequent deer sightings. Wild pig abound here too. Later we face a more tricky ascent up a rocky footpath that eventually brings us to this amazing calar (plateau). It forms a huge natural basin with grassy areas below us. We now have the opportunity to circle the calar to enjoy the quite amazing scenery all around us. Later we make our way to the ruined building and the trig point at Cerro de Espino before reluctantly beginning our descent back down the way we came. If you are in the Sierra de Segura this hike is not to be missed, but choose a clear day. Enjoy!
