This is a circular walk, starting at Cane End, north-west of Reading on the A4074. It takes the form of a loop to the north-east of the road, followed by another to the south-west. There is one section along a B-road, but it is otherwise almost entirely through or beside woods - mostly beech. There are several gates and a few stiles.

The restaurant at the start point is now a small housing development (still under construction as of May ‘20), but parking was easy; hopefully this will still be the case when everything’s finished and landscaped. Generally easy to follow but GPS was useful in the woods. Pleasingly quiet and peaceful; for much of the time the only sounds to be heard were birdsong and the breeze in the trees.
