Splendid scenes in wide expanses of Northants countryside are a constant theme throughout this walk, visiting two charming little villages, Adstone and Maidford. Field-paths, tracks, bridleways and a wonderful byway, as well as some quiet country lanes, combine to make this a journey of interest and natural beauty. Canons Ashby House and Church are magnificant NT properties. The house is 16th Century and has been the home of the Dryden family from the time when it was built, remaining virtually unaltered since 1710. It is wonderfully atmospheric, with a grand church standing nearby that was once an Augustinian priory. Incorporate the walk with a visit to this superb property and get double the pleasure.
