On leaving the car park, the walk takes you down quiet lanes and through woodland tracks, where after a short, steep climb, you will find an old Cornish mine, now covered in ivy, so keep a sharp eye open. It is worth the climb for those who enjoy the industrial past and for those who wish further to immerse themselves in the peace of the tall trees.
Descending back to the valley, you will pass a small bridge that may remind you of the 'wee faerie folk'. Here is an ideal location for a rest, before continuing and following another climb up the side of the valley, perhaps enjoying a picnic amongst the tall trees. There are many breathtaking views as the walk continues, following a long loop back to the car parks and the start of your walk.
