From Carharrack we follow a quiet lane initially and are soon climbing along tracks and footpaths. We later descend the east side of Carn Marth before turning at the old mine Wheal Amelia to ascend to the viewpoint by the lake and near the summit of Carn Marth. From here we have an easy descent to the lane that takes us to Gwennap Pit. The next stage is an easy ramble along quiet country lanes to rejoin our outward path and retrace our way to the start.
