This is a mainly flat walk that starts from Castle Eden Village and travels along the Haswell to Hart Countryside Walk to arrive at Crimdon Dene on the North Sea coast. From Crimdon the walk then follows a 3.75-mile section of the Durham Coast Path that intersects a series of large and small denes along the way.
The route eventually arrives at Denemouth, the flat salty marsh that is the coastal outfall of the Castle Eden Dene. From here the walk leaves the coast and turns inland through the magically intriguing Dene to return to Castle Eden Village. A nice feature of the walk is the many interesting information boards displayed along the whole route.
