Starting at Chapeltown Station, following the rail line and into Parkin Wood on the Trans Pennine Trail into Wharncliffe Wood, both ancient woodlands (on maps from the 1600s). Then by the side of Tankersley Golf Course to Tankersley Church, under the M1 Motorway and on through old industrial woodlands (Bell Ground Wood) to Elsecar Village and the station, an old industrial hub with a heritage centre and much to see in the village.
Good footpaths and quiet woodlands.
