The walk starts in the centre of Chatburn and goes south-east around Worsaw Hill before climbing eastwards along the base of Pendle by way of Hook Cliffe Farm. A concessionary path is followed, which gives extensive views to the north, taking in Whernside, before a long, easy drop to the north-west through pastures leading to Downham, where there is an ice cream shop as well as a pub and toilets. The route continues first to the north of the village across Downham Green before turning westwards to follow footpaths back to the start.
