This is a walk with a mixture of landscapes including quiet villages, busier towns, cooling woodland and typical stunning Chiltern views.

The walk starts in the pretty village of Checkendon at the church before heading north into Braziers Common with its shady woodland and birdsong. After exiting the wood, the walk heads though some stunning Chilterns countryside before arriving in the urban setting of Woodcote, where there are two pubs and park benches to eat your packed lunch.

The route then heads across the green before navigating through the Oratory School back to the A4074. Soon after, the walk passes through the wonderfully tranquil Exlade Street and the famous Highwayman pub before climbing up into the fields once more. There then follows some more walking through the delightful Heath End woods before ending up at the start.

Thanks for the comments from Neil. I have amended the walk length as mentioned.

A very varied and scenic route, not overly strenuous, with the Braziers Common - Woodcote stretch offering the pick of the views. Woodcote has a number of good halfway refreshment options . Navigation is generally straightforward but follow directions carefully at WM15 to ensure you walk the left boundary of the large field and not, as I initially did, the right boundary of its immediate neighbour! I ended up walking 7.3 miles which even allowing for my misstep suggests the walk is a bit longer than described.
