Cheddar Gorge is one of the most spectacular places to visit in the country. Its towering cliffs and dramatic scenery is enough to inspire and excite anyone. This is only a short walk but it explores the cliffs on the north side of the gorge and offers some spectacular views for the walker.

The route starts off at one of the many car parks that run down the gorge's main road. It continues down towards the main visitor centre and attractions before taking a quiet footpath away from the crowds. The footpath quickly gets steeper as you gain more height and reach the terrace path along the top of the cliff.

The next section of the walk should be done slowly to maximise enjoyment and to give enough time thoroughly to enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge from this lofty path. Towards the end of the path the route descends quite steeply back to the road before following the bottom of the gorge back to the car park.

We did this walk 29th April 2022, great views, BUT we wouldn't say that its a moderate walk, lots of uphill & dodgy pathways. We Loved it though.
