This really is a lovely station to station walk through the Essex countryside. At the start you can browse the shops in Chelmsford town centre before a lengthy stretch beside the River Chelmer. From here you follow clear field paths, lots of stretches through beautiful sections of woodland, and a nature reserve and a couple of quiet country lanes before arriving at Hatfield Peverel.
All paths were clear and signposted (Feb 2023) with only one or two stiles.
