A flat, circular walk starts at the Pagham Harbour Local Nature Reserve car park at Church Norton. The walk follows the edge of Pagham Harbour with its many seabirds and waders (oystercatchers, curlews, little egrets, herons and redshanks to name a few); this is part of Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve. There is a hide for birdwatchers along the pathway. The route then turns inland through rich arable land. A short part of the walk goes through Selsey's camping area, then back to the coast. There are no stiles and the ground is generally solid underfoot.

There is an opportunity to cut the walk by about half its distance at Waymark 8 or to visit Selsey at Waymark 16.

After 10, the path is diverted around a tidal water meadow. Climb the steps to the obvious bank, clearly signposted. I went left, curving around to reach the bridge; cross that and follow the gravel track to the caravan park. Going right might achieve the same result, possibly via the beach.
