This walk was originally submitted by Brian & Anne Sandland. Walkingworld is very grateful for Sid Marks taking over the walk, April 2021. Walk titles and route directions may have changed since the walk was first published.

On this walk you will find an incredible variety of scenery. There are wild and desolate mudflats, conventional and huge prairie-type fields and seafronts varying between the Victorian and Edwardian grandeur of Clacton, the ramshackle settlement of Jaywick (holiday home of Eastenders for decades) and the huge modern caravan parks at St Osyth Beach. There is even a stretch of nudist beach, just before you reach a nature reserve. The walk starts and ends at Clacton Pier, which is close to the town centre.
