As for Walk 1402, this walk starts from Clare Country Park with its many attractions and cheap, convenient parking. The walk has great views all the way. You have the chance to visit churches at Clare and Stoke by Clare and there are the sites of two former castles and 2,000-year-old earthworks, as well as a priory at Clare. You use more of the Stour Valley Path, which features in several of our walks and always affords good paths and views. On the way back through Clare you pass a museum, several excellent pubs and eating-houses and the tiny local Nethergate Brewery.
