5m circular route begins at Clock Face Park, which was a colliery from 1893 to 1966 but is now an open green space, well worth exploring. Upon leaving the park the walk crosses farmland to the site of Wheatacre Wood, which is part of the Mersey Forest. Upon leaving the wood the walk enters Colliery Moss Nature Reserve, the site of Bold Colliery, another area well worth exploring. Upon leaving site of the ex-colliery the route passes through the site of Bold Power Station, now green and pleasant. Finally it's back over farmland and return to start. Though the route incorporates several ex-industrial sites it is now returned to nature. Excellent history links are in Additional Info'.
