Starting in the historic market town of Coggeshall which has almost 300 listed buildings and a market whose charter was granted in 1256 by King Henry III, this circular route has some amazing views as you walk though the fields in the Essex countryside. You follow a lengthy section beside the River Blackwater and you also get a chance to see a group of alpacas towards the end of the walk. Upon arriving back at Coggeshall, there is a choice of two pubs and a chip shop for refreshments.
All paths were clear and mostly signposted (April 2023).
