A splendid circular walk starting at Colchester North Station taking you through parts of the Essex countryside. En-route you will follow field paths, country lanes, a stretch through Colchester Golf Course, a superb section through Highwoods Country Park and a nature reserve. There are also a few residential roads to follow passing a food shop along one of them.
There are plenty of places to sit down and enjoy a picnic, and also with a short diversion (waymark 28) you can explore Castle Park and Colchester Castle for resuming the walk back to the station. All paths were clear and signposted, even through the golf course (Sept 2022).
