This is the first of a series of three linear walks which take you from Colchester Town Station to Clacton Station. The walks can be varied in a large variety of ways or can be completed in one go. You will have the opportunity to stop off at any of the intermediate stations along the way and can even choose to do the walks in reverse, of course. This section follows the banks of the River Colne for the great majority of the way and shows you how the course of a river can vary over a comparatively short distance. You will pass the stations at The Hythe and Wivenhoe, or can choose to shorten your walk by starting or ending at either of these stations.
