This is an enjoyable walk with paths in good order. The outward route is beside the fenced Bure Valley Railway, a private narrow-gauge railway which runs mostly during the summer months. The return route is and along field edges and beside the River Bure. Near the end there is an excellent pub, The Recruiting Sergeant, which the walk passes going through Horstead.
