This is a stunning linear walk made in to a circular from Coniston Pier with a truly spectacular Steam Yacht Gondola ride on Coniston Lake to the southernmost point at Lake Bank Pier where you disembark and start off on your walk firstly climbing 200m above sea level on to the picturesque Blawith Fells and rolling hills taking in the beautiful scenery and views looking out to the North of Coniston Lake and beyond. You will then start to descend, crossing beautiful flowing streams and alonside tarns across the exposed open fells through picturesque woodland before picking up the Lakeshore path that skirts the west side of the shoreline through beautiful woodland and spectacular views right across the Lake. There are various pebbled beaches and piers along the way to explore and lots of spots for a rewarding short rest or a picnic. The shoreline path takes you through the old Coniston camping area and back to the start of the walk at Coniston Pier with the option to visit Coniston Village and grab a hearty meal in one of the many pubs which are full of local character and charm.
