This walk was originated by Colin Campbell. Walkingworld would like to say a big thank you to Colin for all his superb contributions to the website over the years.
You start off from the Visitors' Centre at Corfe Castle and use easy paths and quiet roads to get to the higher ground. Creech Hill is well worth a visit when you get there, with its panoramic views over huge areas to the north and east. Next you skirt around the Stonehill Down Nature Reserve and then begin to take in the views across the Purbeck Vale as well. You enjoy these for a couple of miles as you amble along easy paths and when the ruins of Corfe Castle start to loom into view, you make for the highest part of the ground. From there you look right down on the castle and the great vista beyond, down to the coast.
The descent afterwards can be a little trying, but it is possible to go back a little way as described and come down by an easier route.
