This is a newly laid out walk on a good, dry path (boots advised though). It's well graded, steeper in the upper section. The lower half is through scattered pines in a gully with a tumbling burn, while the upper is on open moor leading up into the Northern Corries. There are beautiful views into the corries and across Strathspey to Aviemore and the Monadhliaths.
From the Corrie Cas car park you can continue up into Corrie an Lochan (Walk 1943), go on to the summit of Cairngorm, or have a ride on the mountain railway (beware: you are not allowed to exit the top station).
