Cowley and Coberley are two picturesque villages lying at the head of the Churn Valley in a particularly attractive and unspoilt part of the Cotswolds. Most of the buildings in Cowley were once part of the estate of the Horlicks drinks family and the manor-house in the village is now a country hotel. Coberley is an equally attractive village and the church is well worth a visit as you pass through, although not immediately obvious, as it is hidden behind an arched doorway.
Much of the walk is along steep-sided valleys and through unspoilt parkland, in the estate of the manor-house along the Churn Valley and also along the Frome Valley through Brimpsfield Park.
