The first part of the walk follows the Landsker Border Trail. The outward route is never far from the upper reaches of the Daugleddau and passes through some lovely old woodland. The paths are well signed and yet usually fairly quiet, with plenty of opportunity for birdwatching. The return route from Lawrenny is on quiet lanes across country.

Point 12, there is no longer a tearoom in Lawrenny village. If you want refreshments then stop at Lawrenny Quay cafe which is at point 10. There is a tearoom now in Cresswell Quay, although it was unfortunately closed when I did this walk. The pub in Cresswell Quay is very nice.
