Starting at the interesting Crinan Basin, the route takes you along the shore to Crinan Harbour, another little gem of a place, then on a steep climb up a good path with great sea views. The route next contours round the edge of the forest. When you re-enter the forest you can visit the cup-and-ring stones. The route now meanders through the forest and just when you least expect it, the sea pops into view and makes a wonderful backdrop for a lunch stop. It is now steadily downhill to Tayvallich. This route is suitable for large walking groups.
