Cwm Nantol Waterfall Car Park - Nature Trail - River Walk - Woodland Walk - Cwm Nantol Car Park

The only real climb is short and sharp near the start and gives an opportunity to see two waterfalls and a variety of birds and flowers. There are small information boards spaced around the route to help the walker to appreciate the area. The views over the mountains are breathtaking.

Please note there may be charges for parking and for visiting the waterfall.

This is a delightfully beautiful and restful place to visit. Although the land is privately owned, the owners allowed us to park and stay until late evening. The sign on the gate announces that it shuts at 6.30 pm but the owner simply asks you to close the gate on the way out, allowing you to leave at your leisure. There are in fact three of four sets of waterfalls, as it had been raining heavily for the two days prior to our visit. The trails take you up into some lovely open rocky terrain with stunning views of the sea and the Lleyn peninsular. All in all its a lovely spot and the campsite is a gem if you like getting away from it all with the restful sound of tumbling water. Many many thanks to Pat Roberts. Andy & Wendy McTaggart

In addition to my last comment, it was still £3 to park ( out of season so there was an honesty box) but I believe it was well worth it for the amazing surroundings, plus clean toilets at the start/end. Take a picnic, spend a few hours there, you won't regret it!

Did this walk as a last little one before heading home from beautiful Snowdonia - and we are so glad we did! Stunning scenery, especially the rivers and waterfalls. Felt much longer than 1.5 miles. It is a little awkward and rocky in places, so if you have young kids or unruly dogs it is best to keep them close, but would highly recommend this walk to anyone. Really easy to follow too due to the blue marker posts. The only slight problem we had was at the beginning as we were a little confused as to where the gate was, however you can't go wrong, just follow the main track with the river on your right.

The car park & nature tail are on private land. Whether this has always been the case I don't know, the instructions give the impression it's local authority etc. Whether it's all the time but Aug Bank holiday they were charging £3 for the car park, if you parked else where and walked they still tried to charge you £1 ea, we politely declined and made up our own very pleasant walk in nearby woods.
