This walk is very varied, a stiff climb, a ridge walk and an easy return following the Nant Carn. The lake is well stocked with fish and herons are well in evidence. The views are amazing, 360 degrees and on a clear day you can see for ever. Look out for the carving of Ysbaddaden, the most unpleasant, vicious and downright nasty of all the giants in Wales. He stands at the top of the picnic area at Waypoint 14, above the obelisk erected to commemorate the year 2000.
