This walk is from the Cwmcarn Visitor Centre, but soon leaves civilization to follow the tops of open mountains. The ascent is long but fairly gradual, but the main descent is very steep. I recommend the use of two walking-poles for this walk. The Gwyddon Valley is very remote and lovely. It is rich in birdlife and in the autumn there is plenty of colour with the trees and the fungi.
