The walk starts and ends in Danehill, East Sussex, a short distance from The Coach and Horses pub, where good-quality meals may be obtained.

It's mostly through woodland with the odd field. There are opportunities to admire the sports facilities of Cumnor House private school and to envy an immaculate golf course owned, I understand, by a private individual on what used to be the Macmillan Estate.

The excesses of mud associated with walks in the Weald are largely absent on this walk except at one place, where advice is given on how to avoid it.

We enjoyed this lovely walk on a boiling hot day in August 2009 (Yes, there was one!) so we appreciated the shade and the variety on this well described walk. Still no golfers! Thanks Ian! Sylvia, Tony and Jagger Dog

9/16/2007 - Norman Lavender

A pleasant walk. Being mostly shaded it is particularly suited to a warm day. An interesting note at wp12 about lack of golfers; the course was deserted on a Sunday afternoon, despite being well maintained. A bit of internet research indicates that the course is owned by a billionaire who no longer plays golf.
