At the well-laid-out car park and picnic area there is an Inverness Information Centre and toilets (both open only from Easter to October). The car park is the lowest point on the walk (200m) and the first mile is a slow climb to 250m on a broad forestry track. There follows 0.5 miles of narrower, less firm path, then a long, gradual descent back to the car park on a good track. Recent felling (1999) has opened good views over the Beauly Firth to Ben Wyvis (1,100m). The paths are good all the way, so no need for special footwear.

Pretty dull with a lot of long straight paths. Lot of felling in last couple of years.

From Access Highland We have just upgraded this network of walks, which now extends to 11km of options. The intention is to provide an upgraded walk for the site which will include a wide variety of walking surface and two new viewpoints. David
