This linear walk from Derby Road Station in Ipswich to Ipswich station has so much variety to offer. There are a few residential roads at the start and a section through Holywells Park before reaching Haven Marina where you can gaze at the beautiful yachts and pop in one of the many food outlets which include restaurants, coffee shops, pubs etc.
After leaving the marina you have a choice to shorten the walk and head straight for Ipswich Station or follow a lengthy section beside the River Gipping before arriving in Sproughton and making your way back to Ipswich via a residential road, enclosed paths, through two parks and surprisingly only one field edge. The section through Chantry Park with its fishing lake is a delight to walk through.
As you arrive at the station with a slight detour (10 min walk) you could go and visit the town centre with its vast array of shops and architecture, or there is a pub opposite if you fancy a beverage. There is also a Costa, Greggs and a newsagent within the station.
