If you need somewhere to just get-away from it all close to Chester; this will be a good walk for you, and soon after you start it offers some fantastic panorama views across a wide and shallow valley. Most of the footpaths on this circular walk are quite well used but included are some with no visible paths and no direction arrows; those sections will require careful navigating. There are few roads that carry traffic and most of the route is very rural. There's a good variety of stiles, footbridges and gates with most of them in good order. The mixture of meadows and fields of crops includes some which are in Wales, and you are likely to come across cows in some fields so you may find a walking stick handy in case they get too nosey. There are lots of streams, brooks and ditches; but no hills or steep slopes to climb. Near the end you will pass through a children's playground.

This walk is probably suitable for all children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Most of the stiles seem to be good for dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled such as strong trainers, but boots will be best and there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. There are very few facilities on your route, but you will pass the village shop and post office as you leave Dodleston, find a bench seat in Lower Kinnerton, and there are picnic tables in the children's playground when you return back at Dodleston. There is also the pub with food and toilets back at the start of the walk. If you book in advance, you should be able to use the pub car park and also get a good meal with a drink; an excellent finish to a good walk.

Crisp days walk with the sun shining, wet under foot , i would advise gaters & good walking boots. Walk is quite easy, quite a flat walk so not really challenging but a good walk. Just wished the pub was open but Covid not permitting.
