The small (pop 2,500) Royal Burgh of Dornoch has many places of historical interest and of course, it's a well-known golfing centre. This walk borders the championship course on both the outward and homeward route. There is a good path along the shore, but you might prefer to walk on the sandy beach for part of the way. Both Dornoch and Embo have caravan sites.

We were in Dornoch for a week on a coach tour and walked this on a free day. Beautiful walk with superb views. We even had lovely, warm weather which enabled us to have a paddle part way round and the plus was that the last waypoint brought us out right next to our hotel which overlooked the golf course.
