The walk starts close to the Dowally craft shop and restaurant 8km north of Dunkeld. Passing through the small hamlet of Dowally, the tree-lined footpath rises for about 1.5km before reaching a good land-rover track leading over open moorland to Loch Ordie. About 1km before Loch Ordie take a grassy path which winds steeply upwards for 2km and find a hidden gem, Lochan na Beinne, nestling near the top of Deuchary Hill. A short, steep climb takes you to the 509m summit which provides 360 degree panorama of much of Perthshire. Follow the grassy path down to Loch Ordie and follow the land-rover track back to Dowally.

11/21/2011 - Tom and Joyce Kay

On a good day but with the cloud base too low for the high tops this is a first class walk to a beautiful remote loch and a small top where you can stand on the ridge and imagine you are at 3000ft. At present the lower sections of the walk are very muddy whilst the estate (which welcomes walkers) installs a hydro scheme. The walk can very easily be extended to a circuit by returning via Guay.
