Draycote Water Country Park is a magnet for families spending leisure time together. The huge expanse of water facilitates fishing and a sailing club and it is a haven for birds and water fowl. There are good cycle paths as well as picnic areas, and walks around the reservoir.

The views are open and distant, green and lovely. The walk leaves the reservoir to visit Thurlaston, a tiny village with attractive dwellings. Field walking ensues to reach the edge of Dunchurch. There then follows lengthy stretches on edges of large fields, passing remote farms in their lonely surrounds.

The quiet rural beauty of these parts stretches away in all directions, and is a feast to the eyes. The bit of road walking to reach Draycote Water once more is soon over, and the well planted drive to the entrance is pleasant and welcoming.

Please note that dogs are not allowed on the part of the route by the reservoir.
