A fantastic walk through the beautiful Exmoor countryside. Starting at the pretty National Trust-owned village of Horner, the walk first follows the streams of Horner Water and West Water through the Horner Wood National Nature Reserve, before climbing up Prickslade and Hollow Combes to gain the summit of Somerset at Dunkery Beacon, where you can glory in the views over Somerset, Devon and across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The walk then follws the ridge of Dunkery Hill before diving back into the woods to return you to Horner.

Fabulous walk with good directions, fantastic views but you do have to work for them. There is one very steep climb at waymark 5 Prickslade Combe and another long steady climb from waymark 10 all the way up to the Beacon. I have tried to update a picture at waymark 14, it says fingerpost marked Rex Stile Head but is now called Dicky's path but I can't get it to upload.

Lots of off lead walking through the woods of Horner, but some walking on quiet country roads is unavoidable Exposure to livestock is a potential
