The walk is suitable for a half-day at any time of year and can be enjoyed by any walkers of modest ability who can appreciate the beautiful surroundings and the restful riverside atmosphere. The outward leg of the walk does have boggy patches, as might be expected, so good footwear is needed. A long stretch of the return leg is on a permissive footpath.

A cracking little walk, although very boggy in a lot of places (we did it on a frosty January day but in wet weather you would need wellies!). Some of the styles were quite rickety. However we were rewarded with lovely views. Nimble dogs will be fine on this walk but older dogs may need to be helped or even carried over the many styles.

Wonderful walk in beautiful Lancashire countryside but slightly spoilt by the 500m section of country road which seemed to be more like a race track for the few minutes we were on it. For dog walkers and those less nimble, the numerous styles might also be a problem. As you might also expect the free car park mentioned in the walk description is no longer free but reasonable. Regardless, we really enjoyed the walk and the gorgeous views and would happily repeat it in the future.
