This is a handy walk to fill in a short time and it has the advantage of showing the two main routes out of the village to the south. The outward leg is on a permissive path which is shown only on the most recent maps and which is not signposted as such, except when you are well on the way from either end. It has good views, the best on the return leg, alongside the River Hodder. It is flat and has only three stiles, plus one turnstile and a gate.

A lovely location but we had to turn back at the pipe bridge as could not get dogs across. Would be OK for very small dogs that could be carried across.

We have just found that we can access this beautiful place by public transport from Preston - the 208 to Clitheroe and then the B10 from there which does a circular via Dunsop Bridge and Slaidburn - involves a bit of juggling with timetables but well worth it. This walk was beautiful and good in showing us some of the area. Thankfully there are plenty more!!
