This walk starts from the picturesque Eas Chia-aig (waterfalls) and travels along a quiet track close to the shores of Loch Arkaig, before entering a peaceful meadow where the remote Glen Mallie runs down to meet the loch, a place to linger awhile. Other than a few visitors to the falls near the start of the walk, it is quite possible to do the remainder without encountering others. One of the reasons for this is that the motor road runs down the opposite side of the loch from the walk and comes to a dead-end at the far end of the loch and so is seldom used by visitors. There is an option to add a detour of around 1.25 miles onto the walk to visit the Clan Cameron Museum, or alternatively by car on the way to or from the walk.
