The Lomond Hills, perched by the side of Loch Leven, look deceptively high as you flash by them on the M9. Take some time to get off the motorway and enjoy this circular walk which has a high summit, woodland, a beautiful quiet village and an Iron Age hill-fort. On a clear day the views from East Lomond are magnificent, from the mountains of Perthsire to Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth. There are two excellent pubs in Falkland that can be used for lunch stops or drink breaks.

Some on lead walking is required through the village of Falkland. We encountered no livestock on this walk so for the most part it was lead free. There are signs that indicate dogs that worry sheep will be shot, so be prepared to put dogs on leads if livestock encountered.
