This is an easy walk through quiet and relatively unfrequented Cotswold countryside, with lovely views over hills, fields and woodland. Many areas are good for birdwatching and the autumn colour is glorious. Some of the paths through woodland can be a bit muddy after rain and there is a short uphill section, parts of which are quite steep, but most of it is easy, gentle walking.
From the high and remote village of Edgeworth, the walk passes the church, which is well worth visiting, then goes down through the grounds of the manor-house to reach an attractive narrow valley at the bottom. This area is often good for birdwatching, especially in spring and early summer.
After an easy walk along the valley, there is an uphill stretch through woodland and across fields to reach the small hamlet of Sudgrove with its imposing Cotswold architecture. The return route is through quiet woodland and farmland. Deer are frequently seen in the woodland and there is also a chance of seeing woodcock and other woodland bird species.
This walk can be combined with Walk 5733 to make a longer walk of around 13.5km.
