This is primarily a river walk taking in some of the best parts (in my opinion) of the River Ribble. The walk covers both sides of the river and is part of the Ribble Way.

This is a very undemanding walk with very little that can be described as a hill. It is ideally suited for anyone with little experience of country walks, or for those a little older who just like a fairly easy day out.

I agree with the previous comments. Most stiles are now kissing gates. You can even walk round the side of some of the remaining stiles!. Almost completely flat with well marked and easy paths. The 'big stile' in Waddow Hall no longer exists but the way is obvious. Other than that all signs in place and all directions are accurate. Done 16/10/05.

This was a lovely relaxing walk, with my partner and our dog Timber. Very muddy in parts but then it is mid October, in a river valley. We completed the walk in four hours and twenty minutes. Just be careful around step four to five. We strayed a little off track and ended up at the cemetery. Probably our own fault! Also a lot of the stiles now seem to be gates. All in all a lovely walk only a few miles from home.
